Position Overview

The Field Supervisor is responsible for directing day-to-day field operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining safe work practices, meeting production objectives, and supporting a positive, accountable crew culture.

You will provide clear direction in the field, respond to changing conditions, and ensure work is carried out efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company and site expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee crews
  • Organize daily work plans, including labor, equipment allocation, and materials
  • Track production progress and re-prioritize work as conditions or schedules change
  • Enforce adherence to site rules, safety legislation, and company procedures
  • Review and approve crew time, manage attendance issues, and support scheduling needs
  • Actively promote safe work practices through FLHAs, toolboxes, and field engagement
  • Mentor crew members
  • Coordinate equipment operation, inspections, and minor maintenance requirements
  • Identify and escalate operational risks, delays, or issues to site leadership

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience supervising crews in an open pit mining environment
  • Strong field-based leadership style with the ability to lead by example
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety
  • Valid Shift Boss Certificate
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction/mining operations
  • Working knowledge of mining equipment, production workflows, and site coordination
  • Understanding of applicable mining regulations, safety standards, and best practices
  • Effective communicator with the ability to give clear direction and feedback
  • Able to remain composed and decisive in fast-paced or high-pressure situations
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
