About the role:
Reporting to the Lead, Water Management, the Coordinator, Water Management is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Mine Water Management Plan, data collection & QA/QC, maintaining site water balance tools, and completion of reporting requirements. A key responsibility for this role will be the coordination of water management projects to improve tracking of water use and movement at the mine site. The role will then maintain these programs, while contributing to water management strategies through integration with Mine Planning.

In addition, strong problem-solving, critical thinking, time management, and analytical skills as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are vital for this role.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Build updates for water planning and water balance tools
  • Support risk analysis through data collection and interpretation
  • Ensure regulatory commitments relating to Water Management Plans and Water Management Facilities are met
  • Provide technical editing of permitting applications and regulatory submissions
  • Complete budget planning for water projects and ensure project management standard methodologies are applied
  • Advise on surface water, groundwater, and hydrology monitoring programs
  • Prepare and review data and reports to meet regulatory and other commitments, including presentation of technical information to a variety of audiences

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Forestry, Agriculture, or a related field
  • Registered, or eligible to apply as a qualified professional such as RP Bio, P.Eng., RPF or related designation is an asset
  • Experience in an industrial environment; experience in mining, or oil and gas, is an asset
  • Experience with hydrometric data collection and systems
  • Technical knowledge of federal and provincial mining water practices and regulatory compliance
  • Experience utilizing and applying water balance modelling and scenario analysis
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite®: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
